The difficulty
The problem with presidential dollars is that the evidence is on the EDGE. Missing or doubled edge lettering is the variety worth having, and the edge is the one part of a coin that almost no photography setup can reach.
Modern dollar coins barely circulated, which means most survive in high grade and value turns on errors and low-mintage issues rather than on wear.
