The difficulty
The problem with privy marks is simply size. They are deliberately small, often under a millimetre, and confirming one means measuring it rather than squinting at it.
Calibrate the scale from the coin's published diameter and the bench reports in millimetres. A privy mark becomes a measurement with a number attached instead of a judgement about whether something looks right.
